| Government $$ distorts the marketplace and the consequences ripple out in untold numbers of directions. While I agree there are SOME universities out there with legitimate programs, the vast bulk of the university system is not MIT. Yet Neo-American society has accepted the lie that EVERYONE must go to college to even have a chance in this life and the money racket begins...you can find a large portion of society who will argue that it is a "civil right"...another watered down term abused to the point that it has become meaningless. Medical, and SOME engineering degrees are among the small minority of legitimate "education" some universities provide, these are drops in the bucket and the labor market has been demonstrating this for a long while. The company I work for spends 6 months to a fucking year doing the universities' job for them with new hires/recent grads, and THEN getting them prepped for their actual role in the company, these kids are damn lucky and dont even have a clue....most companies are not bothering with entry level jobs anymore because it is too costly.
